SHENANIGANS CREWS TALE OF OUR TRIP TO EDINBURGH BY POLLY & DAVID
Not having a boat of one’s own can open up new experiences, as we were to discover when we were asked by our friend Clive if we would like to sail to Edinburgh with him on his boat Shenanegan. He was going to The Royal Forth Yacht Club at Granton on the Firth of Forth, which was to be the venue for the 2009 AGM of the Sparkman and Stephens (S&S) owners club.Clive’s boat is an S&S boat, a She 33, and he was also closely involved in the organisation of this year’s event. He planned a journey of 4 to 6 weeks, depending on the weather, with the possibility of sailing further north towards Inverness after the festivities at Edinburgh were concluded.Naturally we jumped at the chance. The plan was to set sail from Grimsby at the beginning of June and to go by easy stages towards Granton, arriving in time for the first of the S&S events, a champagne reception on board the Royal Yacht Britannia which is moored at Leith.Extended News To read the full article follow this link to
